Summary

Seven manuscript versions across one continuous session. Two days from V69 to V76. Net add to manuscript: +415 words. Significant: the Bill Ollis lived scene at V73, the documentary anchor at V74, and the title-page rebuild at V76.

Manuscript versions

V70 — ISBN paperback + Stanford verify

• P1 from prior tracker: Real Nielsen ISBN-13 978-1-0369-9170-8 swapped in for the mock ISBN on rear cover/copyright page.
• Stanford case (Chapter 8): verified Kohls v. Ellison + Mata v. Avianca + Moffatt v. Air Canada citations against external sources. Where wording drifted, corrected against verified record.
• Mode: continuance editing. No tracked changes carried in file.

V71 — Contents bookmarks and hyperlinks

• Contents page now has 15 chapter entries with hyperlinks/bookmarks (ch_1 through ch_15).
• Bowlby quote on title page (was on its own page in earlier versions).
• 45,636 words. New clean baseline.
• Mode: continuance editing.

V72 — Footer navigation + Bowlby move

• Added Back to Contents link to right side of footer on every page. Clickable in PDF.
• New contents bookmark added to Contents heading (was missing).
• Bowlby quote moved from title page back to its own page 2.
• Paul P1 cosmetic tweak: spacing before Bowlby quote on title page.
• Mode: tracked editing. Paul returned with all changes accepted.

V73 — Two Dads insert (the major addition)

• Edit 1: Chapter 3, line 505 — "Loss of my father at three" → "at five" (factual correction).
• Edit 2: Chapter 14, line 2461 — trimmed "saying to a therapist: we don't talk about that" → "carried in the body for decades, waiting for a room where it could speak" (removes redundancy with new lived scene).
• Edit 3 (the major one): Chapter 14, Two Dads section — replaced the vague bridge paragraph with the full Bill Ollis lived scene. ~310 words across 22 short paragraphs:
• Bill Ollis named.
• Three "earlier"s: Bill working Paul backwards from twenties to teens to single-digit years.
• "We don't talk about that" — spoken by the inner child ten minutes into Paul's first counselling session.
• Bill let it sit. Did not interpret.
• At the end of the session, Bill handed Paul a piece of paper. Three words: Not good enough. Here. Think about this. I did.
• Next-day sister verification: Paul rings sister (two years older), asks about James Wakefield, her exact words back: "we don't talk about that."
• "Two children, two years apart, who I do not believe were ever told those words." — empirical evidence of CL-29 (all behaviour is learned, not all behaviour is taught).
• Years of carrying the contradiction. Bill's three words alongside it.
• Reframe in psychotherapy training — another trainee in a role-play: "I had two dads."
• "Biblical, it was. Release and relief in the same breath."
• Forty years close: "The three words on Bill's piece of paper have been running underneath the work ever since."

V74 — Documentary anchor

• Single tracked insertion in Chapter 14, between "Biblical, it was…" and the forty-years close: "I wrote it down in my diploma notes in 2014. 'Noticing I have 2 Dads.' That was the form it took on the page."
• Anchors the recalled scene to the documentary record: Paul's own FETC Diploma workshop paper The Whole Self (June 2014), which contains the exact phrase "noticing I have 2 Dads" and references "I carry my dad2's values with me."
• Net add: +24 words.
• Mode: tracked editing. Paul returned with all changes accepted.

V75 — Two small fixes (Dad / ChatGPT date)

• Edit 1: Chapter 5, line 977 — "I lost my own father, Ian Roebuck" → "I lost my Dad, Ian Roebuck." Aligns register with Chapter 14's Two Dads framing.
• Edit 2: Chapter 9, line 1653 — "I joined ChatGPT the week it launched in November 2022" → "eleven days after it launched, on Sunday 11 December 2022." Fixes internal conflict with Chapter 10's precise date.
• Dropped (on Jose's advice): Two other corrections Paul proposed — 2015→2016 for opening the therapy room and thirty-seven→thirty years for commercial practice. Both would create internal contradictions with surrounding text (two Room headers, the transition didn't begin in 2015 line). Paul accepted recommendation to leave the dates approximately as they are.

V76 — Title page rebuild

• Top spacing above MIND THE GAP reduced (visual layout, untracked).
• Three blank spacing paragraphs after author name deleted (tracked).
• New title page content added between Paul Roebuck and Bowlby quote:
• Credentials line: PGCEE · MNCS (Accred) · FETC (Ad.Dip) (italic, mid-grey, middle dots).
